Coins are excellent mementos of ancient times. Over the centuries, the patina changes and the details wear away from use and age. But their history lingers. We have concentrated on Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Tibetan. We have used the coins of roman emperors Constantine (306-337AD), Crispus (317-326AD) and Trajan (98-117AD) along with Plautilla (202-205AD), wife of Caracalla. Byzantine coins are bronze follis’ dating from 400-500 AD. The one hundred twenty year old Tibetan Ga-den Tangka is a beautiful coin with the lotus surrounded by eight propitious Sanskrit symbols. |
